I'll keep it short and simple. The best doughnuts I've had in years!! Friendly service counts a lot with me. I highly recommend this place.

Amazing sandwiches

I highly recommend the Vietnamese sandwiches, pork is my personal favorite. The vegetables are fresh and crisp. The bread is amazing. I am always welcomed with a smile and fast service.

The location near the Astrodome and the one off Main near 59 are both excellent. Fast and friendly and always with a smile. Great Kolachies too! Best donuts in town! Even when the rodeo was in town, the drive through was fast.

Croissant Heaven

Best Donuts on Tidwell has the best, fresh baked Croissant Kolaches and Breakfast sandwiches anywhere in Houston. Everything is baked on site, and due to the volume of trade, it's always fresh from the oven. The prices are more than reasonable. I have the same Croissant Sausage & Cheese Kolache every weekday...... for a dollar ! Not only is the food great, the couple that own the place...

The building is nondescript and plain, but that's the only downfall. The employees are very friendly and helpful. The food is good and very reasonable. The clientelle is so diverse, you can really get a feeling of what a great melting pot we have in the Heights. You may not feel inspired to dine-in, but all of the happy faces and yummy low-priced breakfast items will have you happily...

They have the most incredible powedered sugar raised donuts that are FRESH, FRESH - they melt in your mouth - such wicked decadence. The sausage kolache is huge and a complete meal in itself. The sausage jalapeno kolache has a goodly amount of jalapenos in it and not for the milder palate but I did try it and it is tasty. There has been a constant flow of people every time I've been to Ashley's. It is great for a breakfast on the go. I like the variety that they offer in the morning, so you aren't limited to only donuts or kolaches. The breakfast burritos are made fresh while you wait, which is great! The staff is always friendly and I've never had anything bad.

This Shipley is right by our house. It even has a drive through for easy pickup to bring something back to the house or on the way to a work meeting. Their donuts are the best in town!!!

The Original Grease

I am told that the N. Main location is "the original... still using the original grease". Regardless, the donuts are hot and delicious and the staff moves the line through. The location is always attended by at least one, if not a squadron of HPD's finest!
